The Beginning

Blue Jetty Foods is a family-owned business with seafood roots tracing back nearly a century and over 20 years of soft shell crab aquaculture experience.

1930s: Our story first began in Malaysia, where our grandfather founded a small seafood wholesale business. Joined by five of his sons, the business grew steadily.

1979: Through their collective hard work, the family business opened their first seafood processing facility — a significant milestone for the family.

A New Chapter

1986: Inspired by emerging seafood markets across Southeast Asia, our family moved to Burma (now Myanmar) to pursue a new business opportunity.

Growing up in Myanmar, it was here that some of my most formative experiences with seafood started. Traveling to remote fishing and processing facilities between school years, I spent significant time exploring factories, setting up crab pots at fishing jetties, and seeing large fishing vessels offload their weekly catch. These became some of my most cherished memories and where my passion for seafood started to take root.

New Ventures

2000s: Driven by growing global appetite for soft shell crabs, we launched our first large-scale soft shell crab aquaculture farm.

2010s: We expanded our operations to five additional farms, establishing a strong global footprint in soft shell crab production.

Today, we are proud to be the single largest producer of soft shell crabs in the world — with our crabs enjoyed across North America, Europe, and Asia.
